New Approach to Forestry Education

Practical Experience Meets Personal Growth

Silvipath was created to give young New Zealanders the opportunity to experience forestry training in a new light. Through partnerships with local forestry crews and schools, we provide immersive, skill-based training that connects learners to the land and the industry.

By working alongside experienced teams at Ace of Spades Contracting, our trainees gain hands-on exposure to real-life forestry contracting environments. This experience allows them to explore different operations—like planting, pruning, and thinning—before choosing the path that best fits their strengths and interests.

Secondary School Background

A firefighter wearing an orange shirt, camouflage pants, and a helmet stands with arms crossed in a forested area.

I have close to a decade working as a teacher in secondary schools before beginning my forestry career. This brings a unique training style to industry-based training. I already have well-established relationships in many Central North Island schools, which gives me the ability to engage with Principals, Gateway/Careers staff to identify students passionate about forestry and provide them with opportunities to work in the sector.
